How do we describe Blackwell? Blackwell is a community under new construction – moving forward in pride and progress. We Believe in Blackwell and invite you to join us in a great place to live and work!

Blackwell is moving forward in an extreme makeover.

We have worked to complete a tremendous amount of projects during a short time frame. Major upgrades to the historic Blackwell Public Library, a facelift of Legion Park, improvements to our wastewater treatment plant, new sidewalks and street lighting in our downtown, a new multi-purpose facility, and repairs at the historic Fairgrounds – all within the last two years!

Blackwell’s location on Interstate 35 in north central Oklahoma is resulting in new and expanding business in our city. With 18 new businesses, large and small, coming to America’s Hometown during the last two years, we are seeing an increase in jobs and capital investment. And there are more opportunities on the horizon. Blackwell is on the move onward and upward. I invite every citizen to help find the solutions to preserve our community’s quality of life. Pride in our hometown is alive and growing. Blackwell’s glass is most definitely half-full!

The new Interstate 35 Exit 222 interchange is complete and will allow for better transportation access to our community. The Oklahoma Visitor’s Center on Interstate 35 near Blackwell is now open and we are the gateway center into northern Oklahoma. Our Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce understands and promotes vital partnerships with our city, county, public schools, industrial authority, and neighboring communities.

We applaud the businesses, property owners and citizens who are willing to invest in new properties and enhance existing buildings and homes. We are beginning to see these improvements, and alumni and visitors to our town are taking notice. Better public parks, sports complexes and school facilities are becoming a reality. Change can be challenging, but new growth yields new opportunity.
